Project Report Guidelines |
Suggested plan for written projects for this course includes the following points:-
- Title
- Author(s)
- Abstract
- Table of Contents
- Introduction
A short summary of the specification for the project
(the original may be included in the appendices).
Where this is unclear, list your assumptions together with reasons
for making such assumptions.
- An overview of your solution to the problem(s) contained in the project
and reasoning behind your proposal.
Your overview should contain a functional description of all operations (methods)
implemented in the program.
E.g. add: List x element --> List
- A more detailed description of your solution together with the abstract data structures
and operations you intend to use. Explain why you have chosen particular data structures
and why you chose a particular set of operations.
- A presentation of the implementation used for the project plus a rational;
choice of language, language structures, alternatives considered.
- Problems encountered during the project and their solutions
- An evaluation of the project, including aspects that might be implemented another way.
Advantages and disadvantages of your design and implementation.
- A section giving conclusions and summing up the project.
(You might want to include a short description of time required / resources required)
- Appendices
As APPENDICES, include
- References to literature you have consulted to solve various problems
/ for background information etc.
General Layout & Presentation Aspects
- Name(s), class and project clearly stated on the front cover
(illustrations optional!)
- Table of contents
- Body of the report (as described above)
- Appendices
Tips
- Diagrams, pictures, tables etc. are often more efficient than text
in conveying information. Please use these!
- All pages should be numbered (by machine!!!)
- Report Languages: Swedish and/or English.
